Making Music Vocal Arts Celebrates Milestone Season with Youth and Adult Choral Opportunities in Southeast Wisconsin

FRANKLIN, WI — Making Music Vocal Arts LLC (MMVA) is celebrating a significant milestone during its 2025-2026 season as founder and artistic director Rachel Maki marks 15 years of music education and 10 years of teaching, conducting, and performing throughout Southeast Wisconsin.

Founded in 2024, Making Music Vocal Arts was established to provide high-quality vocal music experiences through project-based ensembles and educational opportunities for singers of all ages. The organization's mission, "Singing with purpose. Quality music making for those wanting more unique performing opportunities," continues to guide its growing presence throughout the region.

"As I reflect on 15 years of teaching and 10 years in the Milwaukee area, I am incredibly grateful for the students, families, educators, and community members who have supported my work," said Maki. "This celebration season is not only about looking back on what has been accomplished, but also looking forward to creating even more opportunities for singers throughout Southeast Wisconsin."

This summer, MMVA will present its annual Summer Choral Showcase, a project-based festival designed for students entering grades 7-12. Hosted in Franklin, Wisconsin, the four-day experience will bring together passionate young singers from across the region to develop vocal technique, artistic expression, and collaborative musicianship while preparing a culminating performance. Registration is open until June 15th. Visit mmvocalarts.com/motifyouthchorale to learn more

Unlike traditional year-long ensembles, the Summer Choral Showcase provides a short-term commitment that allows students to continue developing their choral skills during the summer months while connecting with other dedicated young musicians.

The organization is also expanding opportunities for adult singers through Motif Chorale: Ladies Edition. This ensemble offers women throughout Southeast Wisconsin the opportunity to perform challenging and engaging choral repertoire in a welcoming and artistic environment. Designed for singers seeking high-quality music making with manageable time commitments, the ensemble continues MMVA's commitment to providing meaningful musical experiences beyond traditional school and community settings.

Both the Summer Choral Showcase and Motif Chorale reflect MMVA's vision of creating accessible, artistic, and community-focused singing opportunities for performers at every stage of life. Register early to save! Visit mmvocalarts.com/motifchorale check out the details.

Throughout the celebration season, MMVA will also highlight stories and memories from former students, families, performers, and colleagues who have been part of Maki's educational and artistic journey over the past 15 years.

Community members interested in learning more about MMVA programs, registration opportunities, or sharing their own memories of working with Rachel Maki are encouraged to visit the organization's website.
